Wild Country - for those wanting the real adventure.
A two day course, designed to develop your mountain bike skills so you can feel happier heading into the hills and mountains.
The course will allow you to develop your existing skills and re-enforce the techniques needed to ride in these exposed areas, including: steep descents and bigger drop off’s, choice of line and riding over harder obstacles; also navigation, to help you get where you’re going.
The course also aims to inform you about riding safely in the mountains and what extra you may need to carry (please see equipment list below, for equipment you will need for the course).
Pre entry requirements
You will needs to be happy riding blue graded or moderate single track (experience of some easier red trails or wild country rides is beneficial but not a mandatory) and competence with the techniques covered in the level two course. (Click here for level two course)

Example of course itinerary
Day one:-
Techniques (descending, drop off’s, obstacles and line choice.)
Single track ride
Navigation (mainly indoor, with some outdoor)
Day two:-
Day ride (will include navigation practice and mountain bike techniques)
Questions and answer session
Review and close

Equipment List
Cycle computer
Bike repair tools & spare tubes
Hat to fit under helmet
Waterproof jacket and trousers
Warm clothing
Spare clothing
Drink for during ride (non fizzy, must be carried)
Small rucsac, to carry everything (not more than 30 litres!)
Food and drink for each day (to be carried on day two)
