Bike Hire

We do not offer bike hire, but if you do not have a bike, we work closely with “Ride Hamsterley” who offer top quality bike hire for children and adults in Hamsterley Forest and, depending on availability, other venues. Please contact us if you require MTB hire cycle4adventure@gmail.com


E-Mountain Bikes

We welcome riders on eMTB’s as well as none powered MTB’s, on most of our MTB Courses, Camps and Guided Rides.

Please note eMTB riders must be at least 14 years old and eMTB’s must be UK & EU “Pedalec” legal. Riders of eMTB’s must also be respectful and tolerant to riders of  none  powered bikes (and vice-versa)


This course is ideal for Mountain Bike Riders and MTB Leaders.


This course covers the essential trailside repairs to allow you to ride self-sufficiently as an individual or in a group.


It is also ideal for aspirant MTB Leaders and Leaders looking for some CPD; please see “Notes for MTB Leaders”

Whether you are a Mountain Biker looking to gain valuable Trailside Repair skills to become more self-sufficient while riding, or you are an MTB Leader wishing to refresh your skills for some essential CPD or develop your MTB Navigation skills for an MTB Leadership assessment; ; the course is ideal for you.

What you will need for the course?

You will need a serviceable Mountain Bike and what ever bike tools you have; as well as lunch, snacks and drinks. A notebook and pencil would be useful to make notes. We provide a range of tools (if you have your own, it’s good to get used to them) and the workshop stands.


This one day course is ideal for riders who wanting to build their confidence in carrying out repairs and become more self-sufficient; it also covers elements of the FunMTB, Level 2 and level 3 MTB Leadership awards. NB. This course is classroom based, and you will not need to ride on the course.

Notes for MTB Leaders

Cycle4adventure offer CPD opportunities for Mountain Bike Leaders (including: British Cycling (UK-MBLS), MBLA and SMBLA) wishing to keep up to date with current National Governing Body guidelines; as well as refresher courses for qualified and trained MTB Leaders.

NB. British, Scottish and Welsh Cycling continue to recognise the MBLA Trail Cycle Leader and Mountain Bike Leader and have updated their Health and Safety guidelines to include the TCL & MBL awards.
