SORRY, NO ELECTRIC BIKES ON BIKING BAIRNS

We welcome riders on eMTB’s as well as none powered MTB’s, on most of our MTB Courses, Camps and Guided Rides.

Please note eMTB riders must be at least 14 years old and eMTB’s must be UK & EU “Pedalec” legal. Riders of eMTB’s must also be respectful and tolerant to riders of  none  powered bikes (and vice-versa).

BIKING BAIRNS MTB CAMPS

Location(s) - HAMSTERLEY FOREST Age range - 7 years to 10 years old

Terrain - Grass areas, gentle trails; plus Blue trail or Skills Loop  where ability allows.

Maximum ratio - 1:8

Our MTB Camps are run in association with Hamsterley Forest - Forestry England.

If you want your bairn to get into riding mountain bikes then the BIKING BAIRNS MTB CAMPS are ideal for them, these camps are about having mountains of fun and good times riding bikes, whilst learning the essential skills required to tackle blue  trails safely and confidently.

BIKING BAIRNS MTB CAMPS takes place over two consecutive 2.5 hour half-day sessions; and cover body position, safe braking, trail etiquette, corners and essential MTB skills. They are a great way for your bairn to develop the techniques to control their bikes.

The BIKING BAIRNS MTB CAMPS are ideal if your Bairn is already riding bikes and knows how to stand up whilst riding and use their brakes as a minimum, but equally caters for bairn’s who’re already keen young riders.

MINIMUM NUMBERS

NB. Due to Safeguarding and Child Protection rules, from the National Governing Bodies, Forestry England, and my own policies; it is not possible to run a 1:1 session with a under 18 year old on their own..

Sessions with 2 or more junior riders are no problem.

If we don’t have a minimum of 2 riders on a Kids MTB Camp, we will have to look at other options, re-arrange or cancel the session; either prior to the session, or if other riders don’t turn up on the day.
