NIGHT RIDING

MTB COURSES

We have two NIGHT RIDING MTB Skills courses for those wishing to experience riding once it is dark. We

• INTRODUCTION TO NIGHT RIDING - For those riders wanting to try experience the amazing feeling of riding in the dark.. (Click here for further information)
• THE DARK NIGHT - NIGHT RIDING MTB COURSE - This is the follow on course to the Introduction to Night Riding course, the course looks at riding single track and technical trail feature on some red trails in the darkness. (Click here for further information)

Bike Hire

For our customers, booked on one of our coaching sessions, MTB courses, Guided MTB rides or Kids MTB Camps; we now have a small fleet of mountain bikes that can be hired for these sessions. Please note: bike hire is not available for riders not on a Cycle4adventure session.

INTRODUCTION TO NIGHT RIDING MTB course

For those new to exploring the trails in the dark - after an introduction to the principles of riding in the dark, safety, light technologies and positioning of lights; we then head out for approximately a 2 hour ride on forest tracks and gentle trails in Hamsterley Forest.

Price per person

Single adult £75.00 per person (including Lights - we have a stock of modern 960 lumen LED bar mounted lights and 1200 lumen LED helmet lights that can be borrowed on our MTB Night Riding sessions).

(If you are using your own lights, we recommend a minimum 750 lumen bike specific lights on handle bars and helmet mounted).

THE DARK NIGHT - NIGHT RIDING MTB course

This 3 hour course is for riders who have already ridden in the dark and what to extend their experience to riding single track trails and gentle Technical Trail Features in the dark.

The course uses carefully selected Red trails and "The Loop" skills loop at Hamsterley Forest and further develops the skills and understand to ride safely in the dark.

Ideal for riders who have already ridden in the dark and are comfortable riding Red (and ideally some Blacks) in day light. Riders should already be committed to Night Riding and preferably already have invested in their own lights - although you can loan a set of our Helmet lights and bar lights, if required.

Price per person

E-Mountain Bikes

We welcome riders on eMTB’s as well as none powered MTB’s, on most of our MTB Courses, Camps and Guided Rides.

Please note eMTB riders must be at least 14 years old and eMTB’s must be UK & EU “Pedalec” legal. Riders of eMTB’s must also be respectful and tolerant to riders of  none  powered bikes (and vice-versa).
