PLEASE NOTE: if you wish to use an eMTB on a FunMTB Leadership award course, please contact us for latest NGB policies.

We welcome riders on eMTB’s as well as none powered MTB’s, on most of our MTB Courses, Camps and Guided Rides.

Please note eMTB riders must be at least 14 years old and eMTB’s must be UK & EU “Pedalec” legal. Riders of eMTB’s must also be respectful and tolerant to riders of  none  powered bikes (and vice-versa).

NAVIGATION FOR MOUNTAIN BIKERS

DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO GET OUT INTO THE WILD COUNTRY

Whether you are a Mountain Biker or Gravel rider, looking to gain valuable navigation skills to explore the countryside and wild countries, or you are an MTB Leader wishing to refresh your skills for some essential CPD or develop your MTB Navigation skills for an MTB Leadership assessment; then this course is ideal for you.

Navigation skills, out on the ride:-

NB. The ride will be approximately 20km on Forest and Wild Country trails.


What you will need for the course?

You will need a serviceable Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike; please see our equipment list to be self sufficient for the ride, including lunch, snacks and drinks. A small notebook and pencil would be useful to make notes while you are out on the ride. We provide a compass and examples of the different maps, plus a printed map of the area for the ride; if you wish to bring your own Ordnance Survey map, please feel free.

This one day course is ideal for riders who want to get out and explore, and want to build their skills and confidence in navigating; it also covers all areas of navigation for the FunMTB, Level 2 (& TCL) and level 3 (& MBL) MTB Leadership awards.

Notes for MTB Leaders

Cycle4adventure offer CPD opportunities for Mountain Bike Leaders (including: British Cycling (UK-MBLS), MBLA and SMBLA) wishing to keep up to date with current National Governing Body guidelines; as well as refresher courses for qualified and trained MTB Leaders.

NB. British, Scottish and Welsh Cycling continue to recognise the MBLA Trail Cycle Leader and Mountain Bike Leader and have updated their Health and Safety guidelines to include the TCL & MBL awards.
