Bike Hire

We now have a small fleet of mountain bikes for hire to our customers, booked on one of our coaching sessions, MTB courses, Guided MTB rides or Kids MTB Camps.

With limited numbers/sizes available; please email - cycle4adventure@gmail.com - to enquire about a hire bike for you, or your Kids.

Our bikes

We have Bird Cycleworks Aeris AM9 and Æther 7 MTB's available in each size of Small, Medium, Medium Long and Large. The Æther 7 is a trail bike for maximising fun on the trails, with modern aggressive enduro geometry and suspension to keep you connected with the trail. The Aeris AM9 is the enduro bike you have been waiting for, be prepared to conquer the roughest trails and smash your personal bests; this is the best balanced bike that I have ridden (Neil).

The Frog MTB bikes are perfect for kids who are starting out trail riding; kitted out with high-spec, age-specific components, designed for ease and comfort to help them build confidence and progress like a pro! They can experience smoother downhill control with the hydraulic disc brakes and impactful suspension forks, and tackle uphill climbs like a champ, thanks to the ultra-lightweight aluminium, child-specific frames.

medium - 5ft2 to 5ft11 (158cm to 180cm)

medium long - 5ft5 to 6ft2 (165cm to 188cm)

large - 5ft9 to 6ft5 (175cm to 196cm)

FROG MTB's guide to sizes

62cm - 8 to 10 years - recommended inside leg of 58cm-70cm (approx 134 to 157cm)

69cm - 10 to 12 years - recommended inside leg of 63cm-75cm (approx 146 to 162cm)

72cm - 13+ years - recommended inside leg of 66cm-85cm (approx 152 to 162cm)

E-Bike Hire

If you are looking to ride with a bit of assistance, we also work with Specialized Durham, to provide Specialized E-Mountain Bikes such as the Levo or Levo SL. The Levo’s fully integrated Turbo Full Power 2.2 motor, 700Wh battery, 90 Nm of torque and 565 watts of power; giving up to 4 x “You” power, and empowering you to ride farther and faster than ever before. The Levo SL has the new Specialized SL 1.2 motor which boasts unmatched smoothness, with 320Wh battery, 50 Nm of torque and 320 watts of power. Resulting in “2x You” performance

(NB. These eMTBs are “Pedalec”, so must be pedalled to gain assistance; and they do conform to British and European Laws for pedal cycles). Please note, hire is dependant on availability of bikes, and we do require plenty notice to arrange and collect the hire bikes. Minimum age for eMTB hire is 14 years old).

E-Bike statement

Whether you are bringing your own eMTB or hiring a eMTB, please read the E-Bike Statement

“We welcome riders on eMTB’s as well as none powered MTB’s, on most of our MTB Courses, Camps and Guided Rides.

Please note eMTB riders must be at least 14 years old and eMTB’s must be UK & EU “Pedalec” legal. Riders of eMTB’s must also be respectful and tolerant to riders of none powered bikes (and vice-versa)”

Further information

In the UK, pedal cycles with electrical assistance can be legally ridden by anyone over the age of 14 without any of the regulations of a motorcycle (insurance, registration, licence etc.) where they produce no more than 250 watts of power (continuously rated) which cuts out at 15.5mph. This output is measured by the manufacturer as part of the bike’s compliance with CE marking requirements and the bike is labelled accordingly. More than 250 watts of continuously rated power and the electric bicycle ceases to be an electric bicycle and becomes, in the eyes of the law, an electric moped.
