Bike Hire
For our customers, booked on one of our coaching sessions, MTB courses, Guided MTB rides or Kids MTB Camps; we now have a small fleet of mountain bikes that can be hired for these sessions. Please note: bike hire is not available for riders not on a Cycle4adventure session.

We have Bird Cycleworks Aeris AM9 and Æther 7 MTB's available in each size of Small, Medium, Medium Long and Large. The Æther 7 is a trail bike for maximising fun on the trails, with modern aggressive enduro geometry and suspension to keep you connected with the trail. If you are looking to ride with a bit of assistance, I can hire in Forestal eMTBs from Bird Cycleworks or Specialized Levo or Levo SL from Specialized Durham; depending on availability of models and sizes. EMTB’s are available as either full-
(NB. These eMTBs are “Pedalec”, so must be pedalled to gain assistance; and they do conform to British and European Laws for pedal cycles). Please note, hire is dependant on availability of bikes, and we do require plenty notice to arrange and collect the hire bikes. Minimum age for eMTB hire is 14 years old).

In the UK, pedal cycles with electrical assistance can be legally ridden by anyone over the age of 14 without any of the regulations of a motorcycle (insurance, registration, licence etc.) where they produce no more than 250 watts of power (continuously rated) which cuts out at 15.5mph. This output is measured by the manufacturer as part of the bike’s compliance with CE marking requirements and the bike is labelled accordingly. More than 250 watts of continuously rated power and the electric bicycle ceases to be an electric bicycle and becomes, in the eyes of the law, an electric moped.
