WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING

MOUNTAIN BIKING

If you do not have your own bike and are looking for advice on where to hire or what bike is required, then please get in touch to chat this over. E-bikes can also be ridden on any of our skills courses (please note minimum age 14 years old and must be UK & EU legal).

Essential items to bring for Introduction to Mountain Biking (or eMTB) courses, Kids MTB Camps, 100% TAILORED Private Coaching sessions and for Group or family sessions :-

Bike (in full working condition, suitable for the size of rider, terrain and technique/camp themes/activities) - may be hired, see above
Helmet - may be hired, see above
Eye wear (glasses or goggles) - we do carry a small stock of basic clear glasses for customers to use
Gloves (full finger cycling gloves are perfect) - we do carry a small stock of basic work type gloves for customers to use
Small Biking Day pack (25 litres max)
Waterproof jacket
Any medication you may require; inhaler, EpiPen etc. and emergency contact details
A drink for whilst riding
Snacks for the ride
(Packed lunch and drink for all day activities)

Essentials for Night Riding and Winter Riding sessions:-

Rear RED lights - these may be hired from us
White front light (minimum 800 lumens) - these may be hired from us
Hi-Viz vest or jacket - we do carry a small stock of Hi-Viz vests for customer to use
Warm clothing (it will be cold) - see below

Items to make your Mountain Bike ride comfortable on Guided Rides and all day coaching sessions:-

Thin woolly hat or buff for under helmet (just in case its cold)
Warmer Cycle friendly Full finger Gloves (just in case its cold)
Water trousers (suitable for cycling)
Padded cycling Shorts (there really are worth it for comfort!)
Outer Baggy Cycling Shorts
Thin fleece or similar
Small personal first aid kit (with any Personal medications)
Drink - minimum 2 litres (hydration pack / water bottle)
Flask with a hot drink (for those cold days and Night Rides)
Food, snacks and extra snacks for each full day
Insulating layers (a variety of base layers are useful to control your temperature)
Suncream (you just never know)

Please bring any tools and spares you have for your bike on Guided Rides and all day coaching sessions, including:-

Spare inner tube x2 for your bike
Spare Brake pads x2 for your bike
Spare Rear Gear Mechanism hanger for your bike (Call your local bike shop for help with this)
Small Trail Toolkit (Pump, multi tool and chain breaker at least)

Items for Night Rides, Winter Rides and Guided rides:-

Whistle
Emergency survival bag
Head torch
Full leg covering (for cold days e.g. cycle tights or cycling leg warmers)
Warm outdoor wear

WALKING, BUSHCRAFT, FOREST SCHOOL AND FOREST ACTIVITIES

Essential items to bring:-

Comfortable and strong shoes or boots
Small Day pack (25 litres max)
Waterproof jacket
Any medication you may require; inhaler, EpiPen etc. and emergency contact details
Warm clothing (it will be cold) - see below

Items to make your activity comfortable:-

Bike Hire

For our customers, booked on one of our coaching sessions, MTB courses, Guided MTB rides or Kids MTB Camps; we now have a small fleet of mountain bikes that can be hired for these sessions. Please note: bike hire is not available for riders not on a Cycle4adventure session.
