Expedition Training course (inc Expedition Leader training)

Cycle4adventure can offer an Expedition training course, this two day training course covers everything you need to know to set out on your own multi-day expedition, or for those MTB Leaders who wish to lead other riders on a multi-day self-sufficient expedition or bike packing trip.

Day one is a centre based day looking at what we carry and use on expedition, loading your bike and the different methods of carrying kit, the skills required to ride loaded bikes and how to carry out common repairs on expedition rides. Followed by an overnight camp, including cooking an expedition style meal on your expedition stove.

Day two is a day on the bikes, carrying all your expedition equipment and reviewing what you are carrying and how you are carrying it. MTB Leaders will also use day two to practice the different elements of leading an expedition or bike packing trip.

The course covers:

NB for MTB Leaders - to be able to be signed off as an accreditation for Expedition Leader

Expedition Journey (and Expedition Leader assessment)

The Expedition Journey follows on from the Expedition Training course above, and is a self-sufficient  journey in wild country, carrying all your own equipment for two days and one night in the amazing countryside; camping one night, with one of our MTB Leaders leading you through the journey.

NB. MTB Leaders who are looking for accreditation to lead Expeditions use this journey as their Expedition Leader assessment, by leading sections of day one and day two, as well as showing Leadership and supervision of camping and cooking.
